The Memory Maps Team is excited to announce that Dr. Boris Nikolai Konrad will be joining Memory Maps as a Senior Advisor with a focus on providing subject matter expertise on memory techniques and learning processes.

Dr. Konrad has been active in memory sports for years, holding a long list of internationally recognized accomplishments including:

  • Eight Team World Memory Championships (most recently in 2018)
  • Four Guinness World Records (including memorizing 201 names and faces in 15 minutes)
  • Further World Records in individual memory disciplines such as remembering random words (280 in 15 minutes)

Dr. Boris Nikolai Konrad brings a wealth of knowledge relating to the real-world application of memory techniques, benefiting heavily from them during his studies to complete his doctorate at the Max Planck Institute for Psychiatry and the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich in 2014 in the field of psychology on the neuronal foundations of extraordinary memory performance (dissertation title: Characteristics and Neuronal Correlates of Superior Memory Performance). He continues to pursue research actively at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour in Nijmegen (Netherlands) as a PostDoc in the working group "Sleep and Memory" and has authored several books on the topics of memory and learning.

“I’m excited to join the Memory Maps Team! Memory Maps is incredibly innovative and reflects a larger paradigm shift in the edtech space toward the use of learning tools based on modern understandings of neuroscience, learning, and memory.  I look forward to contributing my expertise and helping to spread the excitement of what can be achieved with the right tools!”
